RichardKane > A glint of hope!

Series: Haven't got a clue

Oh well, I just had to post this one. Sometimes there's a moment, just a moment that defies expression. That day in Simon's Town, no wind, the clear, translucent waters at the Jubilee Square Pier, the old boats tied up, and suddenly, a flash of light as the sun reflected off the top of the bow! A wonderful moment to see!

Series: Who knows?

A big apology to all my Smug buddies, I've really been AWOL and it won't get better any time soon. 2010 has started and things are tougher, faster, harder, even than they were in 2009, and that was bad enough! I have to work really hard, no time for much of anything and little time for the internet. I hope things will improve, I hope the pressure will ease, I don't know if and when, but I hope it does soon!

Series: The Cape of All Things

Valour class guided missile frigate, SAS Isaac Mendi, alongside the quay in the azure waters of the Simon's Town Naval Dockyard. The Mendi is armed with Exocet Surface to Surface and Umkhonto Surface to Air missiles as well as OtoBreda guns and a variety of Anti Submarine Warfare weapons as well as a Lynx helicopter. The ship is designed to have stealth characteristics, as can be seen by the sharp angles in it's hull and superstructure and is one of four vessels in the class, based on the German Meko design.

Series: The Streets of Cape Town

A young boy waves goodbye to his mother in Woodstock, a really low income, struggling suburb, close to the city centre. This is the type of photography I so love, spontaneous, unposed, random street scenes filled with life, emotions and passion!
